Running is great and a really good form of exercise, but for some it can still be a little difficult to get in the running shoes and out the door.

There can be many different reasons for this. Maybe you find it boring and monotonous along the way, or maybe the couch just tempts a little more.

If it's something you can nod recognizably to, then luckily there is advice for it. Therefore, we have collected 5 tips on how to keep the spirit on the run and give you’re running motivation a boost.

5 tips for running motivation

Make running agreements with others

When you only have one running deal with yourself, then it can be easier to skip. Therefore, it can be a good idea to make running agreements with others, where you run a trip together. Then it commits more when you know there is someone waiting for you. It is also a great opportunity to catch up with a good friend, family member, colleague or the like.

2. Listen to music or your favorite podcast

Music can help to give a good boost of energy and spirit. Then put together a good playlist from home, so that there can be a little extra push in the running shoes.

It could also be that you have a favorite podcast that you love to listen to so that the run becomes a little more fun.

3. Run the other way around

Maybe you have a few usual routes or an area you usually run in. Here you can create some variation by doing something as simple as running the other way around. That is, you start the trip where you usually end it. Suddenly there are some new challenges, or maybe the dreaded hill turns into a nice descent.

4. Sign up for a race

It can be a great motivation on the run when you know you have a run out in the future. It does not have to be a half marathon, but it can also be a race with a shorter distance. Maybe you know some who would also like to participate so you can do it together.

5. Use a running program

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, it can be a good idea to follow a running program. That way, there is more structure to it, and you easily get an overview of what you need to train.

We have both 5 km, 10 km and Half Marathon running programs - and there are both for beginners and experienced. .
